19TH JULY 2010 - CLS DEMOLITION SECURE LARGE CONTRACT IN CENTRAL LONDON, UNITED GRAND LODGE OF ENGLAND
CLS Demolition have recently secured the contract for the demolition works at The United Grand Lodge of England, London.
The Contract comprises :-
Provision of Temporary works.
Cutting openings through existing roof slab.
Demolition of existing internal lift shaft and surrounding staircases & landings between the Lower ground floor and roof levels.
Altering / adapting and /or infilling existing doorway openings and cutting new doorway openings.
Demolition of part of the existing Lift pit.
The works are located on Great Queen Street, Covent Garden. An overall contract period of 8 weeks to carry out the demolition works is envisaged, valuing nearly £160,000.00
28TH JUNE 2010 - CLS CIVIL ENGINEERING COMMENCE CONSTRUCTION OF MUGA PITCHES IN LEEDS
CLS Civil Engineering recently started work on the construction of 3 multi use games areas (MUGA) at Temple Moor High School, Leeds. The works involved breaking up existing carpark, laying drainage, sub base build up, tarmac works, fencing, and white lining. The pitch is to be designed and constructed by CLS Civil Engineering, in line with the current Sport England specification. The total area of the pitches amounts to 3000m2. Our contract value is estimated to be £100,000.00, the construction works are due to be carried out within 5 weeks.
24TH MAY 2010 - CLS DEMOLITION COMMENCE DEMOLITION IN THETFORD
CLS Demolition have commenced demolition works in Thetford for their client Two Sisters Food Group. The works include the asbestos removal, soft strip and clearance of all structures within the existing warehouse including the grubbing up and removal of foundations and sub structures.
The principle quantities are shown below:
Breaking out and grubbing up 5500m2 of concrete area
Breaking out and grubbing up 2000m2 of block paving
Demolition of existing offices and link building
Soft strip of existing warehouse 12600m2
26TH APRIL 2010 - CLS DEMOLITION START WORK ON THREE SCHOOLS IN GAINSBOROUGH
CLS Demolition have been awarded the £150,000.00 contract for the demolition of 3 schools in Gainsborough by the main contractor Mouchel, a 17 week demolition programme is anticipated. The works include the isolation of existing utility site services, asbestos removal, demolition and clearance of all former school buildings and structures on the school sites including the grubbing up and removal of foundations and sub structures at the following locations within Gainsborough.

The Beckett School, Whites Wood Lane, Gainsborough.
The Middlefield School of Technology, Middlefield Lane, Gainsborough
22ND MARCH 2010 - THE 'DASH FOR GAS' GOING VERY WELL ON STAPLES VEGETABLES ANAEROBIC DIGESTION PLANT
Construction work is going very well on Staples Anaerobic Digestion Plant, currently the primary and secondary digesters are 70% complete. The silage clamp/hard standing area as it stands amounts to 5000m2 with a further 6000m2 due for construction.
At present the steel framed control building is awaiting its wall cladding, which will be carried out after the installation of the AD process equipment by Xergi. The silage clamp alpha block walls are due to be installed from early April, with a view of completing the silage clamp walls and hard standing area by May 31st 2010.
The Anaerobic Digestion Plant is still on course to be up and running by September 2010 after an intensive commissioning phase from Xergi over the summer months.
22ND FEBRUARY 2010 - CLS CIVIL ENGINEERING START LINCOLN UNIVERSITY 2012 ENABLING WORKS
CLS Civil Engineering have started work at Lincoln University on the 2012 Enabling Works contract estimated to be £300,000.00 lasting 12 weeks.
The contract works consist of: permanent hoarding (450m), car park construction (2000m2), Harrison House foundation works, new service road construction (100m long), upgrades to existing wet well chamber, infill of existing 4.5m deep delph (125m long).
25TH JANUARY 2010 - CLS START DEMOLITION OF 100 HOUSES ON GUILDFORD STREET
CLS Demolition are carrying out the demolition works for North East Lincolnshire Council that will involve the demolition of all 100 houses in the street as part of an £8-million regeneration project to revamp the East Marsh.
The demolition of Guildford Street is now well underway, and the work heralds a new beginning for the East Marsh and the whole of the North East Lincolnshire.
Already the majority of rear walls have been cleared and out houses on one side of the street, along with the first five houses which have now been flattened to the ground.
Ironically, the first five houses to be demolished are one three sets of terraces to be demolished which were bomb damaged during the war, and had had to be re-built following the second world war.

7TH DECEMBER 2009 - CLS CIVIL ENGINEERING START CONSTRUCTION ON STAPLES VEGETABLES 1.4MW ANAEROBIC DIGESTION PLANT
CLS Civil Engineering Ltd secure contract to act as Principal Contractor to design and construct Staples Vegetables Anaerobic Digestion Plant. The construction work started early December 2009 and the AD Plant is due to be commissioned by Autumn 2010.
The principle quantities are shown below:
1.4 MW Anaerobic Digestion Plant
13,000 m2 Concrete Silage Clamp/Process Area
15 m high Primary Digester (4000 m3 capacity)
6m high Secondary Digester
Control Building/Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHP)
400m of 5m high Precast Concrete Wall Units
The client Staples Vegetables Ltd farm 10,000 acres of brassica crops for the major retailers in Lincolnshire and on the Isle of Wight. The anaerobic digester will process out of specification and by-passed vegetables created by the existing vegetable harvesting and packaging process. Maize will also be grown on the farm to supplement the vegetable feedstock.
The design and technical expertise is being provided by Danish based Xergi.
30TH NOVEMBER 2009 - CLS CIVIL ENGINEERING WIN MAJOR CARAVAN DEVELOPMENT FOR BOURNE LESIURE AT SETON SANDS HOLIDAY PARK, EAST LOTHIAN
Construction work commenced on the extension of the existing caravan park at Seton Sands Holiday Park earlier this month. The works consist of the construction of 49No new caravan bases with 400m of access/spine roads including retaining walls, hard/soft landscaping and necessary infrastructure works. These infrastructure works comprise of new sewer, water, electric and gas mains. The contract value is estimated at £792,000.00.
The Seton Sands Holiday Park is one of numerous developments CLS Civil Engineering have carried out for their valued clients Bourne Leisure. Recent developments built for Bourne Leisure include Primrose Valley & Devon Cliffs Holiday Parks.
