Contract Value: £1,500,000.00
Cell 3 – Works involved the re-grading of an old redundant landfill site to create a self-draining dome. Shaping of side slopes to a 1:3 gradient to allow the laying of a 500 mm thick clay seal, overlaid with GCL Bentomat. Approximate area 68,000m2. Final capping reinstated with sub-soil and topsoil which was hydra seeded upon completion.
Cell 4a – The construction of a 10,000m2 landfill cell for the disposal of chemical waste. Clay bunds lined with low permeability conditioned clay and the installation of preferential path leachate drains and extraction pit.
Cell 4b – Installation of leachate cut off drain around existing landfill sites using Bentonite impermeable membrane. Trench backfilled with imported shredded tyres. Construction of new leachate monitoring chamber and outlet pipework. |

Contract Value: £1,152,000.00
The works involved the construction of the Finale Field cell incorporating bulk excavation of 96,000m3 and the installation of a 1M thick low permeability clay liner, overlaid with 52,000 m2 of 2mm thick fully CQA tested (HDPE), geomembrane liner. Protective geotextile 1200g m2 and leachate collection system. Construction of the surface water balancing pond and gabion lined drainage channel (270 linear metre). The construction of a new site access road and the repair of the existing one. |
