Drax Golf Course Construction

The work comprised the construction of three new golf holes and large lake at Drax Golf Club, Selby.
The construction work involved various phases:
- Site clearance and topsoil strip
- The excavation of the lake area and depositing of the material in landscaped bunds and greens and tees
- Total land drainage systems throughout
- Construction of greens and tees to designers specification using locally sourced materials
- The installation of the irrigation system
- Soil preparation and seeding
Topgolf Driving Range, Addlestone

The works involved the excavation & re-shaping of 20,000m³ of inert fill & the forming of perimeter landscaping bunds around a 6-acre Synthetic turf outfield. Within the turfed areas,10No. 4m deep golf targets were constructed using circular galvanised metal retaining walls. These targets were up to 23m in diameter, shaped to enable the driven golf balls to fall under gravity to a central collection point. Due to the high water table, all these targets were lined with 3mm HDPE liner to reduce the ingress of ground water into the target structures.
A fully designed drainage system was installed to enable surface water to be collected & re-circulated adjacent irrigation lakes on the adjoining golf course.
The whole of the driving outfield was covered with a synthetic turf to emulate a grass golf fairway. Floodlighting & perimeter nets were erected to maximise playing times & safety for neighbouring properties.
